Keynote speaker: Amie Post

Amie Post is an educator, researcher, and organizational leader. Amie has been associated with the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family since attending the Postgraduate Program (2012-2016) and now serves as a board member and is an active faculty member. She is on the Board of The Murray Bowen Archives Project and on faculty at Center for the Study of Natural Systems and the Family in Houston Texas.
Drawing from her diverse background as a teacher, sports coach, non-profit leader, and therapist, Amie brings unique perspectives to understanding human relationships and organizational dynamics. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Center for Family Systems Theory (CFST), where she leads efforts to provide accessible, high-quality learning opportunities grounded in Bowen theory across Western New York.
Amie maintains a robust clinical practice based in Baltimore, Maryland and a coaching and consulting practice grounded in Bowen theory. Previously, she served as executive director of the Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County, a social service agency assisting families in preventing and responding to the impact of domestic violence.
Ann-Helen Johansson

Ann-Helen Johansson is a social work professional with a Bachelor of Social Science and extensive experience in the field. Over the course of her career, she has worked in diverse settings with a strong focus on family assessment, gaining deep knowledge in understanding family dynamics. In her role as a supervisor of groups, Ann-Helen works through collaborative reflection and exploration where she supports practitioners, strengthening their professional identity always with the goal of improving outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
She has further education in family therapy, in Norway and in the USA. She has four years of studies at the Post Graduate Program at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family. Ann-Helen has been chair of the organization Bowen Forum Sweden and was part of coordinating the 3rd International Conference on Bowen Systems Theory in Sweden in 2022. In her presentation, she will explore a family’s reaction to a dramatic incident and how a family system responds to a new family constallation.
Marie Simonsson

Marie Simonsson has a background in various management positions in Sweden and internationally. For the past 15 years she has been self employed, working in several board positions and with company development. She has a BSc in Business administration & economics, and a MSc in Leadership & organizational development. Bowen Systems theory is used as a method for organizational change, group & leadership development. The theory is an efficient method to reduce anxiety in organizations and improve work environment.
Faezeh Khalaji

Faezeh Khalaji is a Stockholm University sociologist who is investigating broadening participation in academic recruitment. She is also the co-founder of Wings of Hope (Hoppets Vingar), a non-profit neighborhood-based organization that works with junior youth and youth mentoring to develop moral capabilities, critical thinking, a sense of purpose, and service to their communities.
She will share insights from her work at the community level and how the entire family can grow and benefit from serving their community together.
Anil Singh

Anil Singh is a researcher and PhD candidate at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, where he explores how communities and food systems can adapt and thrive in the face of social and environmental challenges. His work focuses on the role of stories, relationships, and youth leadership in shaping more resilient and hopeful futures. Previously, his work focused on the links between biodiversity and ecosystem services as part of the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere programme at the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences.
Anil will share perspectives on the complex interactions and adaptive processes that drive resilience and sustainability.
Berit Sundgren Grinups

Berit Sundgren Grinups has a degree of Licentiate of Social Science. Berit has participated in tutorials in Bowen´s System Theory since the mid 80´s, studied the theory at Luleå University of Technology (2007), and at Georgetown, Washington (2011-2012). Since 2015 she meets with groups and gives presentations in her capacity as a Bowen coach. In 2021 she translated the book “One Family´s Story” (Kerr 2003) to Swedish. Berit is also the editor of the first book ever written in Swedish about Bowen´s theory. Since 2023 she is the chair of the Bowen Forum Sweden.
